The Prosecutor’s Office has reduced the former tennis player’s sentence to two years Arantxa Sánchez Vicario after reaching an agreement between both parties, as we published this Tuesday the 12th. In addition, she has maintained her request for four years in prison for her ex-husband, Joseph Santcana.
This is what the prosecutor stated this Friday, September 15, during the process of final conclusions of the trial. Both Sánchez Vicario and Santcana are accused of alleged asset seizure for hiding their assets to avoid paying a million-dollar debt with the Bank of Luxembourg.
Likewise, the prosecutor and the bank’s prosecution have accepted that if she is convicted, the athlete will not have to enter a penitentiary center, since two years is the maximum sentence to enter and she has no record.
