The Premier distributes six million among modest clubs

The Premier League has distributed 5.5 million pounds (6 million euros) to modest clubs in England and Wales to help them prepare for the return of the competition. In total, 1,090 clubs from the National League (from the English Fifth Division), the Women's League and the Welsh Premier League will benefit of these grants, which aim to minimize the economic impact suffered by the clubs due to not being able to receive fans in their stadiums. This money will also help teams to make their fields safer for the 2020/2021 season, given the risks of the coronavirus pandemic.

“I am delighted that we have been able to increase our support for all levels of football, both male and female, throughout the country, so that they have their stadiums ready “, Premier Executive Chairman Richard Masters said in a statement.

Further, the aid can be used to prepare the fields for the possible arrival of a future and the Premier has recommended the purchase of dataphones, gel dispenser installations for fans and new ticketing systems, among other measures.
