The Indian Wells Masters already has dates for 2021

Important news for the ATP calendar in the final leg of this season. The organization announced on Thursday the progress so that several tournaments that were pending celebration can be played after the US Open.

One of the most outstanding novelties is the new date for the 1000 Masters of Indian Wells, which was suspended last March due to the pandemic. The ATP has confirmed that the Indian Wells BNP Paribas Open will be held in week 41 of this season from October 10-17. The tournament will take place in eight days and will have 56 players in the main draw, 28 couples in the doubles table and a table of 28 tennis players who will play the preliminary phase.

Another novelty is that the Shanghai 1,000 Masters maintains its intention to host the appointment this year and, although there is still no official confirmation, the tournament could be held in the week leading up to Indian Wells, October 3-10.

However, not everything is good news for the ATP calendar, since lThe organization has confirmed that the China Open in Beijing and the Rakuten Japan Open Tennis in Tokyo, both ATP 500 category tournaments and scheduled from October 4 to 10, they will not be held in 2021 due to restrictions against the coronavirus, like the Grand Prix Hassan II of Marrekech, which had to be suspended last April.
