The gunpowder in Barça’s attack crushes Valladolid

Lewandowski led the victory (4-0) at a packed Nou Camp with his second consecutive double

BARCELONA, 28 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

FC Barcelona thrashed Real Valladolid (4-0) this Sunday in the third matchday of LaLiga Santander, a comfortable game for the ‘culé’ squad that exhibited its gunpowder in attack with goals from Ousmane Dembélé, Sergi Roberto and a brace from Robert Lewandowski.

Xavi Hernández’s team continued to be sweet in front of goal against a Valladolid team surpassed by Barça’s effectiveness. Lewandowski led his team on his first big evening at home, as did Jules Koundé, who made his debut after his long-awaited entry into the competition. The French played his first minutes from a right back without an owner with four days to go before the transfer market closes.

Barça warned of his punch from the start and Lewandowski showed the sharpness of his goalscoring nose. The connection with Raphinha was a dagger for a Valladolid succumbed to the monopolizing dominance of the locals. The Pole opened the scoring after 24 minutes on a placid afternoon, which began in the best way for the Catalans and for the former Bayern player, who already has four goals in the league.

The Catalan team danced against the rival defense, although Sergio González’s men found their best ally in the post to stop Barcelona’s bleeding. First it was the Pole, in the first ten minutes with a header, and then an unpredictable Ousmane Dembélé, who burst the crossbar in a shot that shook the foundations of the Camp Nou.

The superiority and overwhelming pressure of the ‘culé’ locked Valladolid in their own area, although they managed to weather the storm in the first half. The defensive block stood firm against Gavi’s creativity, but Barça found its edge on the flanks to leave the Valladolid team knocked out.

Precisely, the inspiration of Dembélé, who exhibited his ability to overflow and his quality with both legs, surpassed Luis Pérez to serve Pedri a shot at will. The midfielder did not miss the low pass and increased the lead (2-0) before the break.

After the break, Sergio González took matters into his own hands and moved the bench in search of changing the dynamics of the match. But the entry of Roque Mesa and Óscar Plano had no effect against Barça, who responded with more possession and more dynamite in attack with the entry of Ansu Fati.

Lewandowski continued to reaffirm his hierarchy and his idyll with the goal. Thus, the striker -at the rate of a double per game- did not forgive to score the third of the afternoon, with a heel shot that left a packed Nou Camp impressed.

Valladolid’s blow was definitive, although he managed to reach Ter Stegen’s area with three consecutive shots. The German goalkeeper grew up and deflected Toni Villa and Roque Mesa’s shot, along with a saving Koundé after taking Óscar Plano’s last attempt under the sticks.

FC Barcelona slowed down in the final minutes and let the visitors breathe. A suffering that did not end until the final whistle after the goal by Sergi Roberto, who delved into the wound to sentence (4-0) the duel in 91′.
