The Galicia Quality Trophy seeks in Sanxenxo the new champions of Spain in the 6 Meter class

MADRID, 13 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

A dozen teams from the international fleet, among which are the best teams on the European scene, will compete for three days, with a total of six tests to be carried out, the contest that in turn will proclaim the new Spanish champions of the class, under the name of Galicia Quality.

“Bribon 500” by Pedro Campos and “Stella” by Violeta Álvarez defend the title won in September 2021 against teams from the podium of the last European Championship in Cascais (Portugal) such as “Titia” by Alicia Freire with Mauricio Sánchez-Bella as skipper and “Alibaba II” by Miguel Lago, as well as the Portuguese “Seljm” by Patrick Monteiro de Barros in Open.

“Having the 6-meter fleet in Galicia again is a luxury that endorses the work carried out by the club hand in hand with the Xunta and the City Council”, commented Pedro Campos as president of the Real Club Náutico de Sanxenxo before the appointment of this Weekend.

“After three very intense years with the Spanish championships each year, the European championship in 2021 and the World championship last summer, we continue with the goal of keeping Sanxenxo as the headquarters of the fleet with the objective that we set ourselves with the Tourism Directorates of Sanxenxo and the Xunta to help deseasonalise searching with dates outside of high season”, he added.

The Galicia Quality Trophy is in turn the penultimate test of the 2022 Cup of Spain series that began in March and includes the Xacobeo Trophy.
