The dismantling of the Vicente Calderón stadium concludes after 17 months of work

The dismantling works of the stadium Vicente Calderón have definitely ended this Monday, as reported by the town hall from the capital, after almost 17 months of work.

With the removal of the last remaining grandstand of the old stadium of the Atlético de Madrid have finished some long and complex works that started in February 2019.

The works have been carried out by Mahou San Miguel and the club Atlético de Madrid, promoters of the urban project that will convert the old stadium and the grounds of the old brewery, 193,804 square meters, into an area of ​​new homes, green spaces and tertiary uses on the banks of the Apple orchards.

The works began with the dismantling of the interior of the stadium, where some elements were propped up to bring it down in a controlled manner.

The urban project of Mahou Calderón contemplates soils for residential use of 33,339 square meters, where buildings will be constructed with 8 heights on average, and there will also be 14,705 square meters of tertiary uses, 13,893 for public equipment and 73,099 for green areas.

The new homes, parks or commercial premises could begin to be built once the urbanization works of the area are completed, at the end of 2021.
