Sweden topples Belgium in the 92nd minute, England’s rival in the semi-finals

MADRID, 22 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Swedish team sealed their ticket to the semifinals of Euro 2022 by beating Belgium (1-0) in the 92nd minute, with a goal by Linda Sembrant, where they will meet the host England.

The siege and dominance of the Swedes resulted in more than 30 shots against the Belgian goalkeeper Nicky Evrard, the best of his. In the last one, in almost the last play of the match, came the goal that Sweden chased so much, in a corner kick.

The center, very close, was poisoned and, after a first clearance by Evrard, the second shot saw the net when it already smelled of extra time at the Leigh Sports Village. Belgium, in its second European Championship, touched another historical step, as it was to reach the quarterfinals.

The Swedes, champions in 1984, won the ticket that quotes them against England, Spain’s executioner with a 2-1 in extra time, in the semifinal next Tuesday, July 26.
