Star Myles Garrett of the Aggies calls out the Browns’ coaches after their early exit from the NFL playoffs

The Aggies’ defensive end Myles Garrett wasn’t happy that his team was kicked out of the NFL playoffs early on Saturday. For 45-14, the Texans beat the Browns badly in Houston, making them look bad.

The Browns were ahead 14–10 at one point, but after that, it was all Texans. Cleveland quarterback Joe Flacco threw two pick–sixes in a row, ending the game.

Garrett used phrases like “undermanned” as well as “outgunned” to describe how his team played after the game.

Before the playoffs, the Browns had the best defense in the league, but Houston’s rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud threw for 274 yards and three scores and the Browns couldn’t stop him.

“The game hadn’t been that far away.” “The execution was the most important thing,” Garrett said. “Speaking about my role as a defensive competitor, I know that we could have performed much better.”

The first game between these two teams was in Week 16, and Cleveland won 36–22. That was a long time ago, though.

Garrett said that Jim Schwartz, the defensive coach for the Browns, didn’t change a lot of the game plan before this game.

Schwartz said from the start that he would stick with the things that got us here. Garrett said, “There wouldn’t be an uncanny call that would save us.”

Because they did things in a slightly different way, it threw us off. We need to be equipped to play everywhere on the field. Not just in the front or back. Everything is together.”

Since the Browns are off of the playoffs, the former star defensive end for the Aggies will not play in a Super Bowl for another year.

It’s been seven years since Garrett last played for the Browns, and they’ve never been to the Super Bowl.

After failing several times, the All-Pro defensive end for the Cleveland Browns went to the Denver Broncos’ visiting locker room to look for help.

Garrett ultimately discovered a trainer who put the white long-sleeved shirt over his head and put his hurt shoulder, which was the cause of all his problems, in a sling.

Following five days, Garrett was able to walk across UCLA’s practice field and lift his arm high enough to drink a protein shake.

He had never missed a game this season. He wasn’t going to miss the following game against the LA Rams either, even though it hurt.

He told ESPN, “Don’t find a reason; instead, find a way.” “Someone will win and someone will lose in the end.”

No one will ever say, “Oh, he was hurt, or he felt that way, or he had to go through that.” They only see the final score and who won.

Garrett’s toughness has been shaped by a string of disappointing seasons, from the famous helmet swing with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2019 to the crash that left him with shoulder pain that never fully healed the previous season. This year, the Cleveland Browns are focusing on Garrett’s toughness.

Garrett had been thrown off track enough. He wasn’t going to let it happen again. He promised himself that he wouldn’t be turned down this season, no matter what.

Garrett said about his attitude this season, “Not letting anything stop me.” “It’s all about getting relentless.”

In past seasons, Garrett couldn’t reach his full ability because of one problem after another. But Garrett also realized that he was stopping the Browns from meeting their own goals in some ways.

It wasn’t enough to just punish the quarterback. Garrett’s former teammates complained about him not being a good boss, both in private and in public. He was always late to conferences, which made it hard for him to lead.

For the Browns to be in the running, they needed their quiet, easygoing star to set the tone away the field as well: Show younger players how to play, speak up in meetings, set a good example in the locker room, be on time, and improve your friends’ play. He knew they had to keep going with that too.

When the Browns play the Houston Texans on Saturday (4:30 p.m. ET, NBC), it will be their third trip to the playoffs in 30 years.

Cleveland finished with 11 wins in the regular season, tied for the most by the team since 1986.

Five different quarterbacks started the season, and injuries to key players like Pro Bowl running back Nick Chubb and quarterback Deshaun Watson ended the season.

Almost everyone in the organization—players, coaches, and front office staff—will say Garrett is the main reason the Browns are where they are and how they’ve been able to get through so much.

Garrett has always been a great pass rusher on his own. But the same individuals in the team say that he’s become the boss that has helped make the Cleveland defense a strong one this year.

On the other hand, the Browns have become a real threat to make it to their first Super Bowl.
