Spain will attend the Fukuoka World Cups with 22 swimmers and five relays for the pool events

The Royal Spanish Swimming Federation (RFEN) announced this Monday the call for 21 swimmers for the pool events of the World Championships that the Japanese town of Fukuoka will host, 12 for individual competitions.

Thus, Alba Vázquez, Emma Carrasco, Ángela Martínez, Paula Otero, Jimena Pérez, Carmen Weiler, África Zamorano, Carles Coll, Carlos Garach, Arbidel González and Adrián Santos were selected after meeting the selection criteria, names to which joins that of Hugo González de Oliveira, with whom the Technical Department has had “in
consideration the logistical and medical problems to be able to compete” in the Mare Nostrum-Ciutat de Barcelona Trophy and “the times obtained in the Meeting TYR Pro Series – Mission Viejo held from May 17 to 20”.

In addition, the federation confirmed that in Fukuoka there will be a total of five relays. Two will be female, the 4×100 medley (Jessica Vall, Paula Juste, Ainhoa ​​Campabadal and Carmen Weiler), and the 4×200 freestyle (Alba Herrero and Carla Carrón together with Weiler and Juste), and another two for men, the 4×100 freestyle (Luis Domínguez, Sergio de Celis, Mario Molla and César Castro) and the 4×200 freestyle (Carlos Roldán and César Castro with Domínguez and De Celis). There will also be a 4×100 mixed styles (Carmen Weiler, Carlos Coll, Paula Juste and Luis Domínguez).
