Spain says goodbye to the World Cup with another Spanish record in the 4×100

The Spanish swimming team closed its participation in the short course World Championships held in Melbourne (Australia) with a ninth place and a record for Spain in the men’s 4×100 medley.

Hugo González, Carles Coll, Mario Mollà and Sergio de Celis, ninth in the world, signed a time of 3.26.48, improving the 3.26.52 of 2009. In individual competition, the last performances this Sunday were those of África Zamorano (11th) , Hugo (12th) and Domínguez (20th), cut in search of their finals.

Zamorano was not far from the ‘Top 8’ in the 200 backstroke, fourth in her series with her 2.04.85, the same as Luis Domínguez in the 200 free, 20th in the summation with a time of 1.44.25. For his part, Hugo González, with his 1.52.02 in the 200 backstroke, was also left out of the final, although he prepared his good performance later in the relay.
