Spain passes the medical examination prior to the Valencia Pre-Olympic

The tests have been prepared by the HM Hospitales Group, official medical provider of the FEB

The players of the Spanish men’s basketball team passed the medical tests this Thursday in Madrid prior to the preparation friendlies and for the Valencia Pre-Olympic tournament, which takes place from July 2 to 7 in La Fonteta.

“The members of the national team have successfully passed the medical examinations prior to the Pre-Olympic Tournament in Valencia and the friendly preparations in Madrid and Alicante. The tests have been carried out by the HM Hospitales Group, Official Medical Supplier of the Spanish Basketball Federation”, explained the FEB in a statement.

The internationals selected by Sergio Scariolo, concentrated since this Monday in Madrid to begin the second phase of preparation for the Valencia Pre-Olympic, passed the medical examination carried out by HM Hospitales.

The medical examination was directed by Dr. Carlos Mascías, medical director of the HM Madrid Río University Hospital, and by Dr. Leticia Fernández-Friera, director of the HM CIEC Comprehensive Center for Cardiovascular Diseases, in coordination with the team’s medical services led by Dr. Carlos Salas.

All of them underwent an exhaustive medical examination and the players underwent a complete physical examination, using an echocardiogram, an electrocardiogram and different imaging tests. They also underwent a complete analytical extraction.

The Spanish team, coached by Sergio Scariolo, will continue the concentration prior to the Valencia Pre-Olympic in Madrid. The team will play its first friendly match of the summer in the capital, on June 25 against Italy at the WiZink Center.

The next match is scheduled for June 28 in Alicante, against the Dominican Republic, before moving to Valencia for the Pre-Olympic match, from July 2 to 7 and with a ticket to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games at stake.
