MADRID, 13 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish goalball team defeated France 6-5 this Saturday to win bronze in Division C in the European Championship in Rotterdam (Netherlands), and thus achieve promotion to European B.

Spain continues to take giant steps in this discipline after a new success in the Dutch framework of the multi-sports event with ten tournaments for people with disabilities. The Spanish team lost in the semifinals to Hungary, but the medal and promotion in the fight for bronze were still at stake.

Genís Quiroga and Pedro Martín endured the initial exchange with the French. In the final stretch, with Spain trailing behind, Quiroga was decisive in turning the score around, with 6-5 with 20 seconds left, and serve the bronze and promotion.
