Sekou Gassama, the globetrotter who thrashed in Fuenlabrada

Sekou Gassama seems to have found his football site in Fuenlabrada. In the last match of the Madrid team in LaLiga SmartBank, in which this Spanish-Senegalese forward born in Granollers is on loan from Valladolid, with great power and better definition, he was in charge of liquidating Alcorcón with three goals. The first hat-trick that he achieves in LaLiga SmartBank allows him to sign his second best scoring start, four goals in the first 11 days. The first he did with Almería last season in which he added 6 in the same number of days. But until reaching this hat-trick, Sekou Gassama has come a long way in the world of football that has led him to the military in numerous teams throughout the Spanish geography.

Formed in the quarry of Barcelona until the age of twelveHe decided to leave La Masía to join the DAMM team, in which he would reach youth, the highest category that this Barcelona club of Nou Barris has.

His qualities did not go unnoticed by different teams. It was at that moment when Almería opted for him, although he was still a youth, but his good work in the Almería team in this category allowed him to play two games with Almería BThey could have been more, but he was out due to injury, although he opened the door to other clubs. So from 2012 to 2017, Sekou Gassama played in the subsidiaries of Valladolid, Rayo, Valencia and in Second B and Third teams such as the Galician team of Bergantiños, Badalona and Sant Andreu. At 22, it seemed that Sekou's future could stagnate in Second B and Third teams, when Almería knocked on his door again. This time it was to play in the subsidiary, in Third. This would be the ultimate opportunity. Sekou restored confidence with 21 goals and helped the team promote to Second B.

His great performance allowed him to knock down the door of the first team and the following campaign he debuted in the Second Division under the command of Fran Fernández, playing 30 games with the first team and adding 12 goals in total, nine in the league and three in the Cup. Meanwhile, the transfer of teams gave him time to receive the call from the Senegal Under-20 team.

The next goal is to play in First. At the moment, he belongs to Valladolid, however, he has not played a single minute with Sergio González's team. In fact, at the same time that he signed his contract with the Pucelano team, in the last winter market, his transfer to Fuenlabrada was made official. He has played for Fernando Torres since last January and has once again demonstrated his potential. At the moment his four goals show that he maintains his scoring instinct. Next summer, he will return to Zorrilla and who knows if he will achieve the long-awaited debut in LaLiga Santander next season.
