Second accounts: promotion, playoff and relegation

Two days from the end there are few certainties in Second. The mathematical rise of Cádiz and the decline of Extremadura and Racing. LThe remaining 19 teams still play something, so the silver category promises excitement.

There are five clubs fighting to accompany Cádiz in the First Division. Huesca, Almería, Zaragoza, Girona and Elche rush their options to take second place, of direct promotion, although it is those of Míchel who are better positioned. Sixth place, the last one that gives access to the playoff, is highly prized and the struggle to get it brings together the four current tenants and seven more suitors (Fuenla, Rayo, Tenerife, Sporting, Alcorcón, Las Palmas and Mirandés). Not far from that platoon are the seven who fight to save themselves: Oviedo, Malaga, Ponfe, Depor, Numancia, Lugo and Albacete.

Huesca, Almería and Zaragoza face three rivals in dire need, Numancia, Ponferradina and Albacete, respectively. The Huescans have that first round at home and for the second, in El Molinón, they could face an opponent with no options. The last day is worse for Almería and Zaragoza, which again receive candidates for relegation, Málaga and Ponfe. Of course, the most benevolent calendar is that of Girona, which plays with Cádiz and Alcorcón.

La Ponfe may be a judge of promotion, but her letters for permanence are the most complicated. Others like Oviedo or Albacete cross with Racing and Cádiz, whose luck is cast. Something strange in a Second where everything can happen …

Accounts for direct promotion

Huesca (64 points)

It depends on yourself. In case of not achieving the six points it would not ascend if it adds less than its rivals or if it is tied with Almería, in triple with the rojiblancos and Girona or in quadruple with Elche, Almería and Girona. You must watch the goal average with Girona.

Almería (63 points)

For his promotion, he needs Huesca to score points and finish with more than them or themselves, since they have the overall goal average won by eleven goals, very difficult to overcome. It would also rise in the case of a triple tie with Zaragoza or Girona.

Zaragoza (62 points)

They can only wait for the stumbles of Huesca and Almería and score more points than them to be second. No combination of ties (simple, triple, quadruple or quintuple) favors them.

Girona (60 points)

To qualify for direct promotion, you must achieve yes or yes the remaining six points and that the rest do not reach 66, except if you tie with Zaragoza (the goal average wins) or with Huesca if you manage to have a better goal difference.

Elche (58 points)

Your options are too remote for direct promotion. There should be a four-way tie with Huesca, Almería and Girona.

The fight for the playoffs

If the fight for promotion and descent is red hot, the playoff fight is no less. Actually, the promotion positions are inhabited by Almería, Zaragoza, Girona and Elche, the latter being the one who marks the border, the listed sixth place (58), who would be assured with four points. Seven other candidates also aspire to it.

The calendar will make that fight even more spicy, since the ilicitanos will face Fuenla, their immediate persecutor (57), this Friday. A direct duel and decisive for them and for the other six teams (Rayo, Tenerife, Sporting, Alcorcón, Las Palmas and Mirandés) scattered within a five-point margin.

In addition, Elche and Fuenla must face the last day against two rivals who play it: Oviedo (Martínez Valero) and Depor (the azulones van Riazor). The Rayo, Sporting and Las Palmas calendar seems more affordable since all of them will have an assault against one of the descendants Racing or Extremadura. Of course, Madrid and Canaries will see each other's faces in Vallecas. For their part, Tenerife and Mirandés meet two teams in danger in the last two days. Now inertia is key and there they come stomping those of Sandoval (7 games without falling) and those of Baraja (8).

This is the fight for permanence

Oviedo (50 points)

If he achieves three points he seals the permanence. Only the goal average wins Albacete. Most draws between various teams hurt him.

Malaga (49 points)

If the ones below don't fail, you'll need four points for your peace of mind. In the event of a tie, he only loses the goal average against Albacete.

Ponferradina (48 points)

You must win both games if the rest do not leave points. It would only go down in simple draws with Malaga, Lugo and Numancia.

Deportivo (48 points)

It depends on yourself. With two wins he achieves permanence independently of the rest. Earned the goal average to Oviedo and Numancia.

Numancia (47 points)

He has to add more than the rest to avoid going down, except with Oviedo, Lugo, Albacete and Ponferradina, who are beaten by the goal average.

Lugo (46 points)

It does not depend on themselves. Forced to win in case the rest stumble. Draws with Ponfe, Oviedo, Depor and Albacete favor them.

Albacete (46 points)

They depend on the rest of the teams to earn points to save themselves. They only have a favorable goal average for Deportivo.
