While finishing his career as a footballer, Roberto Trashorras He already got his coach’s card and the sports director’s card. After working as a commentator on TV and radio and playing with the Barca Legends, last year began his career on the bench. He rejected several proposals from higher categories and decided to start his coaching career close to home, in the Juvenil B del CD Lugo. His first season as coach was very successful and his team competed with the ‘roosters’ of the category, such as Celta or the depose. “It was a very good season, both in terms of results and training,” he says.
His good work has earned him promotion to the subsidiary of the Lugo. Although in principle the logical step was to jump to Juvenil A, the departure of the subsidiary’s coach directly opened the doors of the second team for him. The Lugo board had no doubts and opted for the Galician, convinced that he has a promising future on the bench. He will now lead the Lugo B in the Second RFEF, “an important step for me and the idea is to continue progressing, learning and taking short steps,” he says. rubbish He knows that “in the subsidiary you have to compete and also prepare the players to take the last leap to professional football”.
His way of working technician He has it clear: “I am very close to the players, I treat them as I liked to be treated by the coaches”. At the start we bet on an attractive, showy and brave style, but we have to know how to adapt and sometimes be a little more unpredictable”.
He is ambitious as a coach, both now in the Lugo as in the key of the future. He does not hide that he would like to work in the Barça youth academy, “the best there is”, the same one that saw him grow up, since his way of seeing football coincides with the style of The Farmhouse and the ADN Barca. He assures that “I like to look high and hopefully I can get to train in the highest category.
