Racing Ferrol and Tenerife end the undefeated leaders Zaragoza and Espanyol in LaLiga Hypermotion

MADRID, 25 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Real Zaragoza could not maintain its difference in the leadership of LaLiga Hypermotion 2023-2024 after losing 1-0 on its visit to Racing Ferrol, while RCD Espanyol lost on its visit to Tenerife (1-0) due to a serious mistake by Fernando Pacheco and he gave up his direct promotion position, in the matches that closed the seventh day of the championship this Monday.

The Zaragoza team has seen its great start to the season slowed down and suffered its first defeat in A Malata, which, together with the draw the previous weekend in La Romareda, has allowed the rest of its rivals to get close to it, although it is still in the lead.

The newly promoted Racing Ferrol showed that they want to make their stadium a fortress, where they are undefeated and have only conceded two goals in three games, so as not to struggle and had a solid game to stop Fran Escribá’s men, unable to replicate the goal by Álvaro Giménez at game time.

With this setback, Zaragoza is left with 16 points, one ahead of Leganés and a Tenerife that narrowly won a direct duel at the Heliodoro Rodríguez against another candidate for promotion like Espanyol, who did not have hit’ to make up for a mistake by his goalkeeper and also lose his undefeated status.

The ‘chicharrero’ team gave a good level in front of their fans to neutralize Luis García’s men, whom they surpassed by one point in the standings thanks to Enric Gallego’s goal after the quarter of an hour and after an error by goalkeeper Fernando Pacheco, whose unnecessary dribbling on the edge of the area did not go well.
