The former Newcastle, PSG or Lille player has confirmed in Le Parisien that Leonardo called him at the end of last season to play a training role that prevents, even gradually, the flight of players from the training center.
“Leonardo contacted me at the end of last season to find out what he wanted to do after retiring. He proposed the project to me and I joined him. The role that they entrusted to me was to occupy all the sports coordination of pre-training and training. I must also have a global vision of all the teams for the future, with the sole objective of developing the maximum number of players and taking them as high as possible ”, acknowledged Cabaye in an interview with ‘Le Parisien’.
Cabaye also stressed that the level of the young people at PSG is quite high: “Yes, I think it is reflected in the results. We are leaders with the U19 and U17 teams with seven and eight points differenceWe have just qualified for the eighth of the Youth League. The players, which is the most important thing for me, are progressing well. I never say that results are not important, but it is important to win progressively. The priority is the progression of the player, who can reach his stages and grow ”.
