MADRID, 20 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Minister of Education and Vocational Training, Pilar Alegría, will maintain this portfolio in the new legislature and, in addition, will absorb the Sports competition that was previously in the Ministry of Culture, also awarded by the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, with the Spokesperson’s Office. of the Executive.
Alegría (1977), who is currently also the national spokesperson for the PSOE, assumed the portfolio of Education and Vocational Training on July 12, 2021, replacing Isabel Celaá, promoter of the new educational law.
With a Diploma in Teaching, specialty Primary Education, from the University of Zaragoza and a Master in Advanced Studies in Social Education from the Complutense University, the socialist was a Government delegate in Aragon before assuming the Education portfolio.
Alegría was a representative for Zaragoza in the Congress of Deputies between 2008 and 2015 and a member of the Federal Executive between 2008 and 2012. In addition, between 2015 and 2019 she was Minister of Innovation, Research and University of the Government of Aragon. SPORTS: THE RFEF AFTER THE ‘RUBIALES CASE’
Alegría also assumes the remains in sports matters, which until now the Minister of Culture had assumed, among which are resolving the crisis in the Royal Spanish Football Federation after the ‘Rubiales case’, with the duty of consolidating the ‘agreements of Oliva’ between the federative entity, the Higher Sports Council (CSD) and the soccer players of the Spanish team, current world champions, after the earthquake and the crisis caused by the kiss of Jenni Hermoso by the former president of the entity.
Furthermore, although relations between the RFEF and LaLiga seem to have found a point of agreement since the departure of Rubiales and the interim management of Pedro Rocha, the Ministry of Sports will have to supervise and act so that these improve, taking into account It also says that Spain will host, along with Portugal and Morocco, the 2030 Soccer World Cup, a quote that Alegría will have to begin to outline.
It will also have to promote the presence of women in management positions – there are only two presidents of Olympic federations, Asunción Lorente, in Remo and Elisa Aguilar, recently elected in basketball after the departure of Jorge Garbajosa – and revive the ADO Plan to help the Olympic athletes.
