Pedro Snchez surprises the Spanish sport, by appointing as president of the Higher Sports Council and secretary of state to a woman of political profile and so far outside the sector. Irene Lozano (Madrid, 1971) is, however, a person of his close confidence, as evidenced by the fact that he was the author of the book in which the president narrates his political career, 'Resistance Manual'. Lozano is the second woman who comes to office, replacing former skier Mara Jos Rienda, both with Snchez.

Rienda aspired to continue in the position and, in fact, had made calls and expressed concern in recent days, waiting for news. Finally, I received the call from the new Minister of Culture and Sports, Jos Manuel Rodrguez Uribes, but not with the expected content.

The stage of Rienda, which ended up having a very naive profile, was severed by the period in office of the Government, a fact that led to the boathouse to the main project of its mandate, the draft of the draft of a new law of sport. The current one, from 1990, has remained anachronistic, does not respond to the reality of the current sport. It corresponds, therefore, to Lozano to retake the initiative from a text that already generates confrontations, especially by the one known as the article 'antiTebas', in which the professional leagues are prohibited from commercializing federation rights. The politics are framed in the war between Javier Thebes, president of the League, and Luis Rubiales, president of the Spanish Federation of Soccer, to whose influence the former links the inclusion of the article in the draft. However, long before reviewing the text in depth, Lozano must make a much more important decision regarding an atvico conflict between the League and the Federation that already unbalances several of his predecessors, such as Jaime Lissavetzky Y Miguel Cardinal. This is the request of Rubiales to advance the elections in the Federation that, according to the Ministerial Order, must be held after the Olympic Games in all national federations. The decision corresponds to the CSD. If authorized, Rubiales will be in a position to avoid the risks of a possible bad European Championship and its opponents will have less time to put together an alternative, without any realistic candidate in sight. If he rejects it, the opposition will gain time. Polmica, then, assured.

Writer and journalist, for a time in this newspaper, and recently at the helm of Spain Global, Lozano can use the experience acquired in the last organization to make profitable the international prestigo of the Spanish sport and use it in diplomatic key. It is also essential to design your team and, in particular, the sports director, where you can use a more technical profile to compensate yours, clearly political.

Faced with the nationalists as they pass through Espaa Global, Lozano must recompose relations with members of the Government of Snchez, who maintain the aspirations of international representation in the sports field, as evidenced by the pact signed with the PNV. An always latent threat to the first tenant of the CSD, with more visibility than many ministers, and more in olympic years.
