The Spanish side Pedro Porro achieved this Saturday the winning goal of the Sporting from Portugal at the end of the League Cup before him Braga 1-0, a game marked by tension and in which the coaches of both teams were sent off.
Porro, 21, was the star of the match, played at the Estadio de Leiria, in central Portugal and also marked by the restrictions of the pandemic.
Even without the presence of spectators, who were seen through webcams, the duel had before starting a first incident when a fire was registered in the changing room assigned to Braga, which had to move to another part of the venue.
With the ball on the pitch, the “lions” were more effective in the shot, although Braga's men knew how to get the most out of the corner kicks and, meanwhile, the technicians of both argued.
Ruben Amorim, from Sporting, and Carlos Carvalhal, of the Braga, they had an unpleasant discussion in the band that was increasing in tone until it ended the patience of the referee, who showed them the red card in minute 33 forcing them to follow the game from the stands.
Less than ten minutes later, in minute 42, Porro took advantage of an oversight by the Braga defense and, with a shot with his right leg, put the Verdiblancos ahead on the scoreboard.
A result that they had to defend until the end, with a Braga that squeezed and that scored in the 85th minute, through Esgaio, although the goal was canceled for offside.
The lions finished the match with 10 players after the expulsion of Pedro Gonçalves in added time for protesting to the referee.
