MADRID, 9 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Spaniard Paco López is the new coach of Granada CF’s first team after the dismissal of Aitor Karanka, whose contract was terminated on Tuesday after the team’s poor run of results, eighth in LaLiga SmartBank.
“The club welcomes the new coach of the first team, as well as wishes him the best of luck on his arrival at the rojiblanca entity,” Granada said in a statement.
Paco López stood out as coach of Levante UD, which he joined in 2017 and which he managed in 147 games over five seasons, all in the top flight. Now, he takes on a team that has won only one game in the last five days and that has just lost in Oviedo (1-0).
Previously, Granada made official the departure of its predecessor on the ‘Nasrid’ bench. “Granada CF has decided to do without the services of Aitor Karanka as coach of the first team,” the entity announced.
From the club they thanked Karanka for “all his work and effort” since his arrival in Granada last season and wished him “the best of luck” in his future professional projects.
