Osasuna will face Bruges in the Conference League preview

The ‘rojillo’ team will have to overcome the Belgians to reach the European competition

MADRID, 18 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

CA Osasuna will face Bruges in the Conference League playoff, after the Belgian team beat the previous round against Icelandic Akureyri on Thursday.

Bruges thrashed (1-5) to become Osasuna’s rival, who is eager to return to Europe 16 years later. The Spanish team also had to deal with a UEFA sanction, for which they were excluded from the competition for corruption of former leaders.

Osasuna’s defense triumphed in its arguments with UEFA, considering itself a “victim” and not guilty of the actions of that old directive, and managed to get the body that governs European football to allow the “rojilla” presence in these qualifiers.

Osasuna will play the last preliminary round in search of the group stage of the Conference League in a double game against Bruges, the first leg being on August 24 at El Sadar and the return on Thursday, August 31 at the Jan Breydel Stadium.
