Osasuna takes advantage of Cádiz's crisis while Valencia and Seville tie in shortage

MADRID, 17 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –

CA Osasuna won this Saturday 2-0 against Cádiz CF, with a double from Ante Budimir, and left the Cádiz team even more affected after matchday 25 in LaLiga EA Sports, while Valencia CF and Sevilla FC tied 0-0 in a match bland and that did not satisfy either team.

In El Sadar, the rojillos opened the scoring in the 63rd minute thanks to a header from Budimir, inside the area and after a good cross from Rubén García from the right wing, on a changed foot. Despite the visiting team's efforts to tie, Osasuna secured the victory in injury time.

Following a counterattack launched by Jesús Areso, Budimir stood in the opponent's area and beat the goalkeeper with a low left foot shot from point-blank range. This result placed the Pamplona team with 32 points, sitting in the middle of the table, while the Cadista team extended its very negative streak and continued with 17 points in the relegation zone.

On the other hand, at the Mestalla Stadium, 'Ches' and Seville canceled each other out. The local team took the lead, but barely reached the vicinity of the Sevilla goalkeeper in danger. Meanwhile, Quique Sánchez Flores' pupils were absent in attack, with only one shot on goal in their statistics at the end of the match.

This goalless draw meant that Valencia now has 36 points, without having taken advantage of a good opportunity to put pressure on other European candidate teams. On the opposite side, the Sevilla team at least extended its dynamic without defeats and already has 24 points in its locker.
