Norwegian skier Ragnhild Mowinckel will retire at the end of the season

MUNICH (GERMANY), Feb. 27 (dpa/EP) –

Norway’s Ragnhild Mowinckel, a two-time Olympic alpine skiing medalist, will retire at the end of this season, she confirmed this Monday.

“It’s been a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, but all good things must come to an end: 2023-2024 will be my last season as a skier,” she said on Instagram.

Mowinckel has been competing in the World Cup for 12 years, with four victories to date. At the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics, he won silver in downhill and giant slalom. His most recent achievement was a bronze medal in giant slalom at last year’s World Championships.

Mowinckel will compete at home in Kvitfjell this weekend, before the final two rounds of the season in Are (Sweden) and Saalbach (Austria).
