Nico Rodríguez stops being sports director of Granada CF

Nicolás ‘Nico’ Rodríguez has been dismissed as sports director of Granada CF, a club he joined in June 2022, as announced by the Nasrid club in a statement.

“The Granada Football Club and Nicolás Rodríguez Sánchez end their time as sports director of the club,” reported the Granada entity.

Nico Rodríguez arrived at Granada on June 2 of last year and has been considered one of the “fundamental pieces” in the making of the squad that was proclaimed champion of LaLiga SmartBank 2022-23 and achieved promotion to LaLiga EA Sports.

“The Granada Football Club wants to express its most sincere gratitude for his effort, dedication and professionalism throughout this journey. The club, from all levels, wishes Nico Rodríguez the best of luck in his professional future,” concluded the statement.

Previously, Nico Rodríguez was sports director at Alcorcón, UD Las Palmas, Sporting, Albacete, Getafe and Elche CF. He was at the Elche club from April 2019 until he joined Granada in June of last year.
