More problems for Kepa: Chelsea sign Edouard Mendy

Chelsea coach Frank Lampard confirmed this Tuesday the signing of Franco-Senegalese goalkeeper Edouard Mendy, which tab from Rennes to fight for the title with the Spanish Kepa Arrizabalaga.

“With the arrival of Mendy there is more competition and that is positive for Kepa and Mendy to fight to play in the team”, Lampard explained at a press conference, who also has Argentine goalkeeper Willy Caballero on his squad.

Kepa signed for Chelsea two years ago from Athletic, but has failed to establish himself as a starter in the goal of the London team. His serious mistake in the last game against Liverpool, when Sadio Mané took the ball from him and scored on an empty goal, has precipitated the hiring of a new goalkeeper by his club.
