Mohamed El Assy: “Rise is a matter of time”

The general manager of Almeria and right-hand man of the sheikh, Mohamed El Assy, has reviewed the current affairs of the rojiblancos, such as the change of bus route last Sunday, dodging the thousand fans who were waiting to receive the team at the door of the Games Stadium Mediterráneos before the match against Málaga. “It is a question of the Police because they control the route and the times. If something happens, the responsibility is theirs. There is even a rule in LaLiga that penalizes being late. We are going to meet with our fans because we want to continue organizing events like this and we feel your support. We don’t want them to get discouraged. Our goal is to play games so that they are happy,” says El Assy.

The Egyptian also spoke about the problem with the Municipal Sports Board of the Almería City Council on the use of the Annex. “I cannot speak of problems with the Board of Trustees, we maintain good relations with them, it has only been a question of the agenda with the training. They are in the box in all the games and we feel their support”, said the general director of the UDA, taking the matter down.

“We are not nervous about what happens. We had to be realistic with what happened to us because we had fifteen casualties due to the coronavirus and injuries. It was nothing the coach could control. We were sure that when the players returned, the results would come. We had to do a mini preseason. I already said during the presentation of Eguaras that February would be much better than January”, assures the Egyptian, who considers that in a few months they will celebrate the third promotion to the elite in the history of the Indál club. “I trust this group of players and people and I am sure they will achieve their goals. Our coaching staff is very valuable and we also trust them. Promotion is a matter of time. If you do your job well, that effort is returned both in football and in life despite the bad luck of these years. The important thing is that each year the club is stronger than the previous one,” he asserts.

UAL students will be able to do internships at the UDA

The students of the University of Almería will be able to do internships in the different departments and areas of Almería after the agreement reached between both institutions and signed by the Rector of the UAL, Carmelo Rodríguez and the general director of the UDA, Mohamed El Assy. In addition, the rojiblanco club will offer students different possibilities to carry out master’s degrees and final degree projects. What’s more, the agreement includes that university students have a special price on match tickets and that Almería can strengthen its volunteering campaign with UAL students.
