Mirotic misses Barça’s start of the season due to injury

The player continues to evolve “favorably” from the treatment of the Achilles tendon in his left foot

MADRID, 22 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Barça reported this Thursday that the Spanish-Montenegrin player Nikola Mirotic continues to “evolve favorably” from treatment for the Achilles tendon in his left foot, for which he will miss the Endesa Super Cup and the start of the Endesa League and the Euroleague.

The Catalan team reported the physical problems of the power forward on July 22, in which they confirmed the “discomfort” of the player and his treatment, although they did not offer an approximate estimate of the time he was out.

Now, two months later, Mirotic will not be available for the start of the season, which Barça will do this weekend in the Endesa Super Cup. In the same way as in the Endesa League, which starts on September 28, and the Euroleague, on October 6.

“The evolution of Mirotic, who is periodically evaluated by the Club’s Medical Services, will mark his return to the courts,” added the Barça team.

In fact, last season, the former Milwaukee Buck finished with discomfort and now he will continue to be away from the courts once the preseason has started and at the gates of the premiere in official competitions, which Barça will have to face without its star.
