Mireia Belmonte leads the 38 Spaniards in the European Championships in Rome

MADRID, 9 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Swimmer Mireia Belmonte returns to competition and heads the list of the 38 swimmers that make up the Spanish expedition at the LEN Absolute European Championships Rome 2022, which will take place from August 11 to 21.

Spain will have the presence of a total of 38 athletes from the five sports disciplines in contention –with 31 officials– in some European Championships that will serve in part as a revalidation after the recent World Cups in Budapest (Hungary) and that will serve as preparation for the next Olympic event in Paris 2024.

Without a doubt, the great attraction is the presence of Mireia Belmonte among the 22 swimmers selected. The Catalan, who was not in the World Cups nor did she have a minimum for these Europeans, is her exception and the technicians want to see her in the water, in official competition, for the first time in 2022.

Along with Belmonte, they will be swimming in Rome 2022 Ainhoa Campabadal, Carla Hurtado, Ángela Martínez, Lidón Muñoz, Paula Otero, Jùlia Pujadas, Jessica Vall, Alba Vázquez, Carmen Weiler and África Zamorano, in the women’s category.
