“Mbappé said at the age of 7 that he would have played for Madrid. He will still do it…”

Kylian Mbappé confessed, after renewing with PSG, that one of his childhood passions was Milan. He dreamed of Madrid, that is known, but thanks to the Riccardis, who live in Bondy, he also began to take a liking to the Rossoneri colours. Kylian spent a dozen years of his life with this family, that of his nanny. It was his second home, as Beatrice Riccardi tells ‘La Gazzetta dello Sport’ today: “He started staying with us when he was three years old and did so until he moved to Monte Carlo with Monaco. She has been like a son.”

The relationship between the families was also born thanks to the Bondy team, of which Nicola Riccardi has been vice president and Wilfried Mbappé, Kylian’s father, sports director.

The striker obviously spent his days playing with the ball: “They didn’t do anything else but play”, says Beatrice, “for birthdays they organized tournaments, endless games”.

The family could not be more milanista. One of his grandchildren is called ‘Milan’, and grandfather Nicola remembers: “We gave him a Rossoneri shirt and he loved it. However, he was a Real Madrid player and he would have been happier with a white one. From the age of seven he began to say that one day he would have been a professional and that he would have played for Madrid. We laughed, but he already had it very clear.”

At Bondy he stood out right away, and Nicola Riccardi is clear that Mbappé will continue to grow: “He was always ambitious, he is making all his dreams come true. Now he said no to Madrid, but in football everything goes very fast and I don’t rule out that in a few years he will be the idol of the Bernabéu.”
