The Spanish MotoGP rider Marc Márquez (Repsol Honda) acknowledged some “strange” sensations trying different configurations and a tenth position in the sprint race of the Austrian Grand Prix that was not real, although it gives him “extra motivation” to try new things and see a “different performance”.
“The sprint has been interesting. Yesterday when I tried the new aerodynamics I already knew where we were going to have problems today. The sensations have been strange because I have tried different configurations today, although for tomorrow we are clear about what we are going to use”, he said in statements provided for your team.
The man from Cervera pointed to a “carambola” in the sprint and lamented the problems with the tyres. “Today, I have benefited from a carom. The real position would have been 15th, so it is not necessary to create expectations that are not real”, he affirmed.
“The performance of the bike remains the same. It’s different with the new aerodynamics, but we have to improve in several aspects. At least it’s something new that we have to try. It gives extra motivation,” he added.
“We have gone from more to less. It seems that the Hondas suffer more with the tires, our performance drops a lot. We are testing many things, but the problem continues to be the same for all the Honda riders, which is positive because we agree”, settled.
