Manacor and Unicaja Costa de Almería, first semi-finalists in the XLIX Copa del Rey volleyball

MADRID, 15 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Conectabalear CV Manacor and Unicaja Costa de Almería reached the semifinals of the XLIX Copa del Rey volleyball this Thursday, which is being played in Leganés (Madrid), thanks to their respective victories against the Herce Soria Group (22-25, 22-25, 20-25) and against Pamesa Teruel Volleyball (27-29, 20-25, 25-19, 29-27, 28-26).

In the first quarterfinal match, Manacor defeated the champion of the previous edition. The wall built by Vitaly Kobzev in the center of the net and the points of Yuen Liu, together with the distribution of Anton Dixen, catapulted the team coached by Alexis González to reach the 'semi' and meet this Saturday with the people of Almería.

To get their ticket to the penultimate round of the tournament, Unicaja Costa de Almería made the Europe Pavilion vibrate with their comeback. He saved two match points in the fourth set and that gave him courage, until he forced a brutal tie-break and in which 16 more match balls were seen before Matthew Neaves' final shot into the net.
