There is a budding star in Spanish football, the very young Luka Romero (Durango, 18-11-2004). So young that, being unable to be a professional due to not having turned 16, Mallorca needed a LaLiga car to include the playmaker in their first call, which AS has learned will be against Villarreal (Tuesday, 7:30 p.m., Movistar LaLiga). Born in Mexico but international with the inferiors of Argentina (runner-up in the South American Sub-15 of 2019, he was going to be summoned by the Sub-17 for a tournament in France in April, suspended by the COVID-19), if he debuts from here to the end of the League he will be the youngest in history to achieve it.
Luka Romero, whom Argentine media have been quick to baptize as The Mexican Messi, He has triple nationality: Mexican, Argentine and Spanish. The first, because of his birth in Mexico by the football career of his father, a versatile midfielder which passed, among others, through Quilmes; the second, because his parents are Argentine; and the third, by one of his grandparents and because landed in Spain as a child, in 2007, when his father signed for Villanueva de Córdoba; later he would do it for Formentera … and so Luka arrived at the Balearic Islands.

Luka started kicking something more seriously in PE Sant Jordi, where he was signed by Mallorca in 2015, where he has been since 10 years. In categories superior to those that corresponded to him, his progression has been much commented in this time, especially since June 1, when he first trained with the first team. No wonder, then, that the club has looked after him at all levels, including paying the rent of the family home and assigning a monthly salary of around 1,000 euros.

His life is very calm, with his parents and his twin brother, Tobias, who plays as a goalkeeper at Penya Arrabal.
