BARCELONA, 24 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Lidl-Trek presented its team for La Vuelta a España this Thursday in Barcelona in an original appearance at a Lidl store, the team’s main sponsor that will also be its supplier of fresh fruit during the Spanish round that begins on Saturday.

The Lidl-Trek cyclists arrived at the Lidl store on a bicycle and with the jersey with which they will participate in La Vuelta España. The supermarket chain also reaffirmed its commitment to sports excellence, the promotion of an active and healthy lifestyle, and the creation of a sustainable future for cycling as a supplier of fresh fruit for its team.

The lineup includes Juanpe López, the only Spaniard on the team, along with Julien Bernard, Kenny Elissonde, Amanuel Ghebreigzabhier, Bauke Mollema, Jacopo Mosca, Edward Theuns and Otto Vergaerde. A Lidl-Trek that mixes youth and experience, ready for the twenty-one stages in which they will tour the Iberian Peninsula.

Lidl’s connection with Lidl-Trek is based on a strong and long-standing alliance that aims to build an elite cycling team that inspires future generations of cyclists, promotes gender equality and fosters a sustainable approach to sport. In addition, both work to promote an active lifestyle that is beneficial to health. From there, one more step in their relationship.

Lidl not only supports the Lidl-Trek team in their quest for victory as the main sponsor, but also becomes their supplier of fresh fruit during each stage of La Vuelta. Riders will receive a constant supply of fresh fruit from the nearest Lidl supermarkets, thus ensuring the energy and nutrition they need to face the challenges of the competition.

“Lidl’s involvement with Lidl-Trek demonstrates Lidl’s dedication to reinforcing its commitment to sport and a healthy lifestyle,” said the General Director of Purchasing and Marketing of Lidl Spain, Miguel Paradela, on Thursday.

“Not only do we offer our customers nutritious options in Lidl stores, but we will also make fresh fruit available to cyclists and Lidl-Trek staff every day during La Vuelta a España. In this way, we support a lifestyle healthy and we train the team to achieve their best performance,” he added.

The Lidl-Trek will face the ‘big’ Spanish after a good performance in the Tour de France a month ago. In the ‘grande boucle’, the Danish cyclist Mads Pedersen shone by winning a stage, highlighting the exceptional performance of the team.

In addition, in the Tour of Denmark, the young cyclist demonstrated his quality by taking first place in the final general classification. Just one day later, at the BEMER Cyclassics in Hamburg, Mads also won. Meanwhile, the Italian Giulio Ciccone left the name of Lidl-Trek high with the King of Mountains jersey.
