Levante begins dismantling the roof of the Ciutat de València

Levante has started this Tuesday the dismantling of the roof of the Ciutat de València and in the coming months it will install a new one that will cover the entire site and that he expects it to be ready for the start of the 2020-21 season.

Levante already obtained authorization from LaLiga last week to continue the works and play until the end of the season in La Nucía and this Tuesday it has gone one step further.

The head of the IDOM architecture firm in charge of the project, Gerardo Reillo, He stressed that in recent weeks they have done “long and hard work, which is not seen and has already been done” in order to start removing the old cover.

The Valencian club has asked LaLiga to play the first days of the 2020-21 season away from home to have enough time to finish this project.

The uprising, with an investment of about 17 million euros, it will also install a zenith television camera, two new video scoreboards and a new public address system in this Phase 1 of the remodeling of the stadium.

The Ciutat de València was inaugurated on September 14, 1969 and since then it has hardly undergone any improvements, such as the one carried out by Levante in its debut in the Europa League in the 2012-13 season.

The uprising will move to the Camilo Cano stadium in La Nucía (Alicante) to face Sevilla FC, Atlético de Madrid, Real Betis, Real Sociedad, Athletic Club and Getafe CF in the remaining six games at home.
