Laureus opens the ‘online’ vote to choose his ‘Sports Moment’ of the last 20 years

Laureus, the organization that awards the well-known 'Oscars del Deporte', has just opened the 'online' public vote to choose the 'Laureus Sports Moment 2000-2020', which will reward the best moment of the last 20 years in which the sport has united people in an extraordinary way.

This campaign includes a list of the 20 best sporting landmarks of the last 20 years, those that have left their mark on the world, that have changed the history of the sport and inspired fans from all over the planet.

In this way, from the organization they have selected moments that they consider most prominent and now it is the turn of sports fans from around the world to vote on their favorite through the web 'laureus.com/vote' since January 10 to February 16. The winner will be announced just one day later when the awards ceremony of the Laureus Awards in Berlin is held.

Through three rounds of elimination, the best 20 moments will be reduced to ten and then to five to finally crown the winner of the only Laureus Awards voted by the public. Among the candidates is the U-12 men's team of FC Barcelona, ​​winner of this award in 2017, the Olympic Refugee Team that competed in Rio 2016, the Brazilian Chapecoense, the brothers Alistair and Jonathan Brownlee, the former paralympic champion and cycling champion Alex Zanardi, or Mick, son of Michael Schumacher, world champion of F-1.
