Las Palmas and Rayo equalize in a frenetic clash

Las Palmas and Rayo Vallecano tied at one goal in a frenetic, open clash, full of occasions, sticks and controversy, in which the locals had a prize for their best second half with a final goal from Sergio Ruiz that equaled the one scored by Trejo, penalty, in the first half.

The Madrid team, with the wind in favor in the first period, imposed a high rhythm from the beginning, played a long time in the opposite field, took the ball from the locals and enjoyed two occasions in the first minutes in which Álvaro García and Andrés Martín did not find a goal.

Jesé started for the first time with Las Palmas and his were the best occasions. In the first, Dimitriesvski deflected a crossed left-footed shot, and in a heads-up against the Macedonian goalkeeper he tried a self-pass but the ball went too long.

In minute 31, a goal was annulled to the visitor Óscar Valentín for helping himself with a hand before finishing, and when there was no controversy it was in the clear demolition of Ale Díez to Andrés Martín inside the area, a penalty that Óscar Trejo converted.

Before the break there was still time for a shot to a stick by Álvaro García and for the locals to claim two penalties, by Advíncula and a possible grab on Álex Suárez.

As soon as the second half started, Maikel Mesa, with an empty goal, did the most difficult thing, send the ball to a post.

Las Palmas met again with the ball and got fully into the game at the risk of suffering a counterattack, such as the one that Andrés Martín ended up chopping the ball before the goalkeeper left in the 68th minute, although he had started offside.

The yellows, unleashed in the final stretch, ran into a post again on a left foot from Benito and shortly thereafter Dimitrievski saved the tie on a point-blank volley from Curbelo.

Rayo suffered, the game was long because he did not sentence on a triple occasion and shortly after Sergio Ruiz tied with a low right hand from outside the area that slipped before hitting a stick that, this time, was an ally of the islanders.
