Argentine coach Jorge Sampaoli acknowledges that he is returning to Sevilla “with very pleasant emotions and memories” of his first stage and “with the hope of generating the same idea” as then, although he is clear that he cannot “invent anything in one day”.
“I arrive with very pleasant emotions and memories of when I was here and with the illusion of being able to generate the same idea that happened at that time. I come with an air of positive energy to generate short-term modifications,” Sampaoli stressed in the official media of the club.
Casilda’s coach stressed that now there is going to be “a different idea that has to be developed with little time” in a squad that he asks to cheer up because “a maelstrom of negativity would generate a lot of harm.”
“Football and life put you in these circumstances and you don’t always have the chance to win. Today this happened and we have to be united from the president to the kit man, without reproaches and knowing that this is the squad we have, that we have to improve the form and have respect for the current idea and that it be fast”, he commented.
Sampaoli believes that “the past was very good for three years, not so much in the end”, but now a “new process” is beginning where they must work to “modify the current history”. “There is a disbelief of the public towards the team and we must rebuild that of those inside transmitting to those outside. The player has to live up to the popular need of the club, of the shield, of prominence and search. So it was that achieved so much in the last season,” he remarked.
The former Chilean and Argentine coach recalled that in his first stage in Nervión he built a team together with Monchi in his “way”. “There was no complaint because we built it ourselves and I enjoyed seeing the team as I planned it,” he warned.
