MADRID, 14 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish taekwondo player Joel Martín Villalobos gave this Monday the first medal for the national delegation present at the European Para Taekwondo Championships that are being held in Rotterdam (Netherlands) by achieving bronze in the -58 kilos category.

Martín Villalobos surpassed the quarterfinal round by beating Frenchman Bopha Kong with great authority (20-3), but in the fight to enter the continental final he was clearly defeated (26-7) by the Israeli Asaf Yasur and finally he was left with a valuable bronze medal.

For his part, at the same weight, his compatriot Rachid El Hayani Benhata could not overcome the quarterfinals when he fell (25-7) against the Azerbaijani Sabir Zeynalov, the same fate that Lidia Costa Sánchez suffered in -52 kilos against the Georgian Ana Japaridze.
