Infantino: “The RFEF has an ally in FIFA”

The president of FIFA, Gianni Infantino, congratulated the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) on Tuesday for its “work” and the “development of football throughout the world”, for which he indicated that the Spanish entity has in the governing body of international soccer “an ally and a friend” and assured that both entities “together” will do “even greater things for world soccer.”

“Spanish football is exceptional at the male, female, youth, club and national team levels. It is a football of passion and heart. The footballers who give us these emotions in Spain are among the best in the world”, Infantino analyzed during a speech telematics during the Extraordinary General Assembly of the RFEF, held in the Ciudad del Fútbol de Las Rozas.

The president congratulated the RFEF for “its work and the development of football throughout the world.” “I congratulate you for the work you do at the amateur level, which is fundamental. I ask you to continue working with the same passion for football, you have an ally and a friend in FIFA. I am sure that together we will do even greater things for world football,” said Infantino, who remembered a women’s team that he hopes will be the “protagonist” in the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

For his part, the head of governance of the UEFA federations, Luca Nicola, praised the “fantastic year for Spanish football” in the 2022-2023 season. “Spain won the League of Nations as a precedent for the Women’s World Cup. In addition, they won the Women’s Futsal Euro Cup; Sevilla, the Europa League; FC Barcelona, ​​the Women’s Champions League; and Palma Futsal, the Futsal Champions League. I congratulate you from the top of the pyramid to the bottom for your work”, he listed.

“It is the second federation in terms of earnings -with 519 million euros, behind the FA-, which demonstrates the professionalism and dedication of the RFEF.
