“I want to do my job and be judged for it”

Genaro Gattuso arrive at Valencia marked by many things. For his splendid past as a player, for his rising career as a coach, for being represented by Jorge Mendesas it is an express decision of Peter Limfor suffering from an autoimmune disease or even for past misplaced statements… All this has been blamed on him from some sector of Valencianism in recent days and the Italian has defended himself in an interview in the Corriere della Sera in which he has asked that the evaluation be for his work.

“I just want to do the work that I like, with peace of mind. And to be judged only for that, for what I really am,” says the Italian, who has not granted an interview for almost a year.

One of the sectors of opposition to Lim in the Valenciathat of the former vice president of the club Miguel Zoriomaintains that he is not the right one for the position and attributes racist and sexist statements to him in addition to warning of the problems that the disease he suffers can cause.

“I am very different from how I have been described for twelve months. Statements from different years are taken, they are isolated from the context and processes are put together with the aim of delegitimizing a person, a life, ”she laments.

“When I hear that I am racist, I feel like I am going crazy. No person can ever be judged by the color of their skin. Racism must always be combated. For me, the color of the skin does not matter, the person counts. His honesty and his loyalty,” she highlights.

Gattuso He assures in the interview that he does not question homosexual marriage. “I believe that every choice of love between people should be respected from all points of view. These are inalienable rights that cannot be limited in any way,” she notes.

He also circumscribes some statements he made about women and football to the disappointment that for him it meant that they separated from the leadership of the Milan a Galliani by Barbarba Berlusconi. “In all fields, women do the same and better than men. They are demonstrating it in governments, in companies, in all sectors. The more responsibilities women have, the better it is,” she states.

In addition, he denies that the illness he has suffered for a decade is an impediment. “I haven’t hidden anything here either. I have, like many people, an autoimmune disease called ocular myasthenia. I’ve suffered from it for a long time, but it’s absolutely under control and doesn’t pose any limitations to my work. I don’t have any obstacles, so much so that I’ve always trained and not bad also in Napleswhere I trained great players in a great club”, he recalls.
