“I am Spanish” by Lamine’s father

Lamine Yamal is a hero. He is 16 years old. The number 19 of the Spanish national team has made history thanks to his goal against France. A comeback and a 2-1 that gave Spain the pass to the final of the European Championship. The very young player declared that his goal was “the most special”. We saw him excited in the Allianz Arena stadium in Munich. His father, Mounir Nasraoui, from the stands, celebrated the goal and the victory of the national team with a happy “I am Spanish!”

After the match, Lamine gave this assessment of his performance against France: “I don’t know if it’s the best goal of the tournament, but for me it was the most special because my first goal in a European Championship with the senior team is something very special. And I’m very happy to be in the final,” he said in the post-match press conference. His goal in the 21st minute equalled Randal Kolo Muani’s previous goal and forged the comeback for ‘La Roja’.

“I remember the last Euro I was in, when I was with my friends in a shopping centre, I always say that. I’m very happy because it’s a dream to reach a final with the senior team,” he added.

Yamal spoke about how his family had dealt with this semi-final against the French team. “I spoke to my mother before, she told me it was her dream. I’m very happy that my first goal was like that against France, in a semi-final and that it went in like that,” he said about his debut goal at the Euros.
