Full stop, by Iñaki Ugalde

The interview with Jon Uriarte puts an end to the meetings held by MD with the three candidates for the presidency of Athletic. Both Barkala and Arechabaleta appeared in our pages on Sunday and Monday. The Bilbao businessman, for agenda reasons, postponed this commitment until yesterday.

IInteresting and relaxed these three conversations with the many other candidates for the Ibaigane chair. Kindness, education and good vibes prevailed above all else in each of these meetings. The presidential candidates developed their ideas through their corresponding answers, they did not shy away from any question, they agreed on different issues and disagreed on different matters.

SIt would be good and necessary for the tone of the electoral campaign to be the same at all times. The ways of understanding and dealing with management in a club with the tradition, weight and roots of Athletic should always be up to the standards of the institution itself. Some, on the other hand, prefer to enter into border wars aimed at making their own interests prevail over even those of the institution itself.

TOca today day of reflection. Athletic’s imminent future is at stake. Big words.

OI wish respect always prevailed above all. Sometimes it is hard to believe that all the agents involved in this process, both internally and externally, defend the same colours. Different, yes, but not so much.
