Fernando Alonso wins the TikTok Spain Public Figure of the Year award

The Spanish Formula 1 driver Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin) was awarded this Wednesday with the award for Public Figure of the Year granted by the social network TikTok, which also awarded FC Barcelona Women, for Brand with Greatest Social Impact of the Year, while Real Madrid was recognized as the Best Sports Brand of 2023.

Alonso won the vote for the TikTok awards that recognized the public figure of 2023 in Spain. The Asturian pilot, who created his account on the social network in February of this same year, has 1.5 million followers on the Chinese social network. On his profile, his videos have more than 17 million views.

The two-time world champion, who could not attend the awards gala as he was in Abu Dhabi for the Grand Prix dispute this weekend that closes the season, wanted to “thank everyone” for the award he received. “An entertainment platform where we have a good time, we spend a lot of time in the day and well, it makes me very happy to receive this award,” he added.

The awards also recognized Real Madrid, which has 37.4 million followers and almost 851 million views, as the Best Sports Brand of the Year. For its part, FC Barcelona Femenino, which landed on TikTok in March of this same year and already has 1.2 million followers, won one of the awards in the Social Impact category.
