Even Louis van Gaal, coach of the Netherlands, applauded on the sideline, standing up, for Eriksen, who suffered a cardiac arrest on June 12 during the European Championship match that he played with Denmark against Finland at Parken in Copenhagen.

After being implanted with a defibrillator, Eriksen signed in January for Brentford, in whose ranks he has played three games with good performance. Today, just three minutes after the start of the second half, he nailed the ball into the top corner after receiving a late pass from Andreas Skov Olsen reducing distances and making it 3-2 on the scoreboard. It is the first goal that Eriksen has scored in an official match since the terrible episode he suffered in June.
