Elche CF renews its collaboration with the UMH

ELCHE (ALICANTE), 28 July (EUROPA PRESS) –

Elche CF and the Miguel Hernández University (UMH) have renewed their collaboration agreement to carry out actions at the facilities of both entities and, among other things, jointly promote the modernization of football in general, and also training, feminine and inclusive.

In addition, the UMH logo will appear on the training pants of both the first team, which will play its third consecutive season in LaLiga Santander in 2022-23 and celebrate the centenary of its foundation, and the subsidiary.

This was agreed by the president of Elche CF, Joaquín Buitrago, and the rector of the Miguel Hernández University (UMH) of Elche, Juan José Ruiz, in a ceremony held at the UMH’s Plaça de Baix Classroom, together with the locality’s Town Hall illicit

The signing of the agreement was also attended by the vice-rector for Inclusion, Sustainability and Sports of the UMH, Raúl Reina Vaillo; the Vice-Rector for Students and Coordination, Juan José López Espín; and the director of the Pedro Ibarra Institutional Chair of the UMH, Miguel Ors.

One of the novelties of the agreement is the celebration, on the occasion of the 25th and 100th anniversary of the UMH and Elche CF, respectively, and in collaboration with the Pedro Ibarra Chair, an exhibition on the 100-year history of the Elche club. It is expected that this exhibition will be exhibited on public roads so that it can be seen by the people of Elche and tourists.

“Continuing to count on the collaboration of the university of our city for more than a decade is a reason for satisfaction. It is a fundamental collaboration, it gives us a lot, and we also try to contribute in everything we can give it. It is a fundamental mutual support We count on them for the entire centenary and we are very grateful to all the departments that collaborate in this agreement,” said Joaquín Buitrago.

For his part, the rector of the UMH has expressed that “it is a pleasure and an obligation” for the UMH to carry out this collaboration. “It is at many levels and very intense, different departments participate and I think it is an essential collaboration that we hope will continue over time,” he said.

MULTIDISCIPLINARY AGREEMENT

Through this collaboration, the UMH provides the Franjiverde team with discounted use of facilities at the El Clot Sports Training Center and its surroundings, collaborating in the educational program for youth soccer players housed in the UMH scientific village for the conciliation of academic and sports activities.

Likewise, both entities will collaborate in training activities of interest to university students in relation to training and performance football, specifically sports technification, training, women’s and inclusive football.

Specifically, the development of external academic internships by UMH students in Elche CF will be made possible, through the corresponding educational cooperation agreement. The main areas of collaboration will be physical preparation (Degree in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences or Master’s Degree in Sports Performance and Health); psychology (Degree in Psychology); physiotherapy (Degree in Physiotherapy); communication (Degree in Audiovisual Communication and Master of Innovation in Journalism); and sports management (Degree in Business Administration and Management).

Joint actions will also be carried out to promote football in the university and sports environment, through the development of specific actions related to the dissemination of values ​​associated with the culture of effort, inclusion, sustainability, fair play and female sport. In addition, the motto #TalentoEnMovimiento will be included in all joint actions carried out by mutual agreement with the UMH.

In parallel, Elche CF will collaborate with the UMH Vice-Rectorate for Inclusion, Sustainability and Sports, through the Office of Healthy Campuses and Sports, as well as with the Faculty of Social and Health Sciences in relation to the Degree in Physical Activity Sciences and Sports and the Master’s Degree in Sports Performance and Health.

Likewise, collaboration has been established with the UMH Sports Research Center to carry out assessment tests on the first team squad in the 2022-23 Santander League preseason, allowing the coaching staff to establish individualized goals of training to improve performance and reduce the risk of injury for soccer players.
