Eibar recovers the lead against Ponferradina

MADRID, 21 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –

SD Eibar successfully settled (0-1) their visit to Ponferradina with a goal from Stoichkov in the second half that returned them to first place in LaLiga SmartBank, while Alavés beat Racing de Santander and Burgos could not get past the draw (1-1) against Málaga at La Rosaleda.

The team led by Gaizka Garitano did not fail in their visit to El Toralín and added their seventh consecutive game without losing in the domestic championship. After a bland first half and without a clear dominance by either team, the armored team came out somewhat more successful after the restart.

Thus, as a result of his insistence, the goal from the Spanish striker ended up arriving. The attacker took advantage of a rebound from Amir in the area to get ahead of the entire defense and make it 0-1. Although Ponfe took a step forward, the lack of success against a sensational Luca Zidane ended up condemning the El Bierzo team, which will continue one more day in relegation places.

Eibar returned to the top after the victory the day before in Las Palmas, with a margin point. In addition, Alavés won to get closer to the direct promotion positions, five points behind the Canaries. The Mendizorroza Stadium had goals from Luis Rioja, Salva Sevilla, from a penalty, and Sylla, playing the last 15 minutes with one less for the red card against a recently entered Rober González, in a game with a lot of VAR.

Meanwhile, Burgos and Málaga drew a draw after an even match that did not help much in the fight for their respective goals. A great Lago Junior, brand new signing for the Malaguista team in this winter market, put Pepe Mel’s men ahead at the end of the first half. The striker picked up a rebound from Rubén Castro to send his team to the changing rooms ahead on the scoreboard.

However, in the second half they completely changed the script with a more forward Burgos who soon tied the game. Calero’s men increased the intensity of their game to end up punishing the counter-attack with a goal from Álex Bermejo, who finished off a ball on a tray with pleasure served by Jesús Areso. A tie that keeps the people from Burgos six points away from direct promotion and the malaguistas in relegation places.

In addition, Granada became strong at home to win (2-0) against Ibiza and return, momentarily, to ‘playoff’ positions after scoring Víctor Díaz’s goal in the early stages of the match and Bryan Zaragoza almost at the final. Paco López’s men, who have an almost impregnable fort in Los Cármenes, managed to recover from the last league defeat against Levante (3-1).

The Nasrid team, which completed a very good first half, turned their first dangerous arrival into a goal. Thus, the Spanish defender put his team ahead with a great header after a precise cross from Callejón from the corner against which the goalkeeper of the Balearic team could do little or nothing.

Already in the second half, dominance continued to be a thing for the locals and although it cost more than necessary, the Andalusians finished sentencing the clash at 81′ with a goal from Bryan Zaragoza after a great individual play, which stopped their aspirations dead in their tracks of a poor Ibiza that added its fifth consecutive defeat to continue occupying the last position of the table.
