Eibar, a first class black beast for Girona

Girona seeks to storm the playoff positions for promotion to First (they glimpse them at three points) and for this they must continue on the path of victory. After signing 16 of the last 21 points and to be a reliable and winning team, Michel’s men are now looking for the most difficult yet: assault Ipurúa. Eibar, second, is one of the teams considered ‘roosters’ in the category for its recently released poster and for the squad it has. Of course, this does not intimidate a Girona that has been able to win three of its last four away games and who wants to continue giving what to talk about.

The rojiblancos have shaken off many complexes in recent days and are managing to be the recognizable and competitive team that Michel intends. The duel that awaits him this Monday is one of those marked in red by the squad and is that Eibar is considered one of the current black beasts of Girona. In Girona they do not forget the duels against the gunsmiths in the First Division and the balance hurts: four defeats in the four games played. The Girona suffered against Eibar during their stay in the First Division and, in addition, they received 14 goals in those four games. A very high figure and even more damage when it is indicated that Girona was only able to score four goals.

The last time they met was the 2018-19 season, with both in First Division, and the duel ended 3-0 in favor of Eibar in Ipurúa. Charles’s double and Rubén Peña’s goal left a rojiblanco block on the canvas, of which Valery, Juanpe, Aleix García and Stuani remain as survivors. Of course, there is a light of hope for Girona because the balance is totally favorable if only the times they have met in the Second Division are taken into consideration. In eight games, Girona won five and drew three. The last victory was 2013-14, 0-3 thanks to goals from Felipe Sanchón, Chando and Eloi Amagat. This is the way.
