MADRID, 10 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Spanish tennis player Martín de la Puente will fight alongside Frenchman Nicolas Peifer in the final of the US Open wheelchair tennis doubles draw, the same prize for the young Martín Landaluce in the junior category.

The man from Vigo made history in national chair tennis and will fight for his first ‘Grand Slam’ title against the world number ones in the modality, the British Alfie Hewett and Gordon Reid, after a ‘battle’ with his teammate two hours against the Dutch Tom Egberink and the Belgian Joachim Gerard, decided in favor of the Spanish and the French in three sets by 6-3, 4-6 and 10/6 in the ‘supertie-break’.

It was not the only joy of the day in Flushing Meadoes for Spanish tennis since in the junior category, Madrid’s Martín Landaluce also got into the final after defeating number one seed, Paraguayan Daniel Vallejo, 6-3 , 6-2. His rival for his title will be Belgian Gilles Arnaud Bailly, second favourite.
