De Jong: “We have to improve, against Real Madrid we will be prepared”

MADRID, 11 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –

FC Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong confessed that the Barça team needs to “improve” after a bad first half against Osasuna and a “better” second half to advance to the Super Cup final, on Sunday against Real Madrid.

“It's been a long time since we won with more than one goal, but it's about winning, playing well. We played a serious game, the first half not very good but the second half better,” he said in statements to Movistar Plus, reported by Europa Press.

De Jong, one of Barça's keys to bringing victory closer in the second half, confessed that the team is progressing in its game with difficulty but will be prepared to defend the title in Riyadh. “It was difficult to find spaces, they closed very well. We needed more mobility and creativity. The changes have helped us with that,” he noted.

“We have to improve, we are improving, it is a new team, with a lot of changes this year, and you need time to improve and get used to your teammates. Many injuries too and we are in this process. The final against Real Madrid is very nice. No We have played extra time, there is no need to travel, we will be prepared,” he concluded.
